The Book of Ruth

In this piece, i am continuing the work of the 15th century Lisbon Judaic Workshop, of that created many fabulous manuscript, among them is the Lisbon Bible. Characteristic of the Lisbon style is the use of mycrography, tiny lettering, that forms lines and shapes, all written, as well as the use of different sizes of lettering in the same page. The delicate floral motives originate from the same syle. The whole Book of Ruth is written inside the centerpiece, and in the inner borders. The text in the outer border is the third chapter of Masechet Bikurim of the Mishna, which describes the bringing of the first fruits of the year to Beit Hamikdash, in the days of King Agripas. This is a limited edition of 499 in Giclee print, and the gold in it is added by hand.
