The Floating Island

This is a work of fiction. Like any memorable work of fiction, it must be grounded in reality. One must sense that they have come witness to an amazing event; the viewer hopefully feels that this illusion has become real.

In the Floating Island, the viewer stands upon a ridge overlooking a dry, almost bone-like collection of rock. Above the desert an incredible huge island floats into one's field of vision, its vegetation lush, its architecture majestic and richly detailed: cared for by its faceless inhabitants.

From the salty arid landscape below, the island appears at peace, sailing along, powered by wind turbines, offering both hope and the promise of solitude and peace.
